CHILDREN'S CATECHUMENATE - RCIC PROGRAM

This program is for unbaptized students grades 1st through 11th, registered in the 2-year Religious Education Program. Students will need to fulfill the required process of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children.

Children who have not been baptized are admitted as catechumens in a rite of Welcome, during which they state their intention to follow the way of Christ by accepting the Gospel.

Based on the number of children older than 7 years who are seeking the Sacrament of Baptism, children will receive Baptism and First Communion at the end of the second year of the formation at the Easter Vigil.
 
If they are in the 7th grade or older, they will also receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

Parents and students need to attend special sessions in addition to the First Communion or Confirmation classes.

A copy of the student's birth certificate must be provided at the time of registration.
